We get more of what we focus on. When we focus on strengths, we see more opportunities for growth and positive change and we can leverage strengths to manage weaknesses. Working to our strengths allows us to maximise our energy and results, and appreciate the strengths of others. It's a recipe for success!
When teachers and leaders in schools know and use their strengths as professionals and in their teaching practice, they are more energised, engaged and resourceful. A shared language of strengths is the road map to a positive school culture for learners, teachers, support staff, leaders, volunteers and parents.
Strengths-based practice is one of the pillars of well-being and positive education. This evidence-based approach creates inclusive, flourishing school communities where learners and all members of staff can thrive. As a member of the Positive Education Schools Association (PESA), I access and share the latest research and resources.
